Presenter: Jerry Peerbolte, J. Peerbolte & Associates
The Presenter

Jerry Peerbolte has been a familiar face within the EASA industry for more than 25 years. He worked for Baldor Electric Company from 1982-2001, serving as Vice President of Marketing during the last 11 years.

Since leaving Baldor, he has been a popular and highly rated speaker at numerous EASA conventions and chapter meetings, covering topics including strategic planning, marketing and sales. 

He is now an assistant professor in the College of Business at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith and is president of J. Peerbolte & Associates, a marketing and management consulting firm specializing in public relations, market research and analysis, strategic planning, training and education.

Mr. Peerbolte assisted with the planning and analysis of both the 2003 and 2008 State of the EASA Industry research projects.

Session Description

This session will assist EASAn’s in evaluating their business strategies for growth.

The session will draw upon the industry's most recent research that identified major issues and trends affecting customers served by EASA Service Centers.  This includes a review of the critical factors customers consider when making decisions about service and product suppliers. The business practices of the most profitable EASAn’s will also be highlighted and discussed.

The session includes a step-by-step model for assessing current business results and establishing benchmarks for improvement.

Hands on Pump Repair"
 

Presenter: Roger Jenkins, Precision Pump & Power
The Presenter

Roger Jenkins of Precision Pump & Power in Rossville, Indiana, began his career in the electrical apparatus industry as a repairman more than 30 years ago. He later moved to inside sales (helping solve customer problems) and then to field service (providing balancing, alignment and predictive maintenance services). In his next position as training coordinator for four service facilities, he developed and implemented customized electrical and mechanical training programs for employees and customers. He also managed the quality assurance programs for these service centers, helping them attain ISO 9002 registration. Besides teaching seminars, he currently operates his own service facility and also provides consulting services for EASA service centers in the areas of pump repair, quality assurance and training.

Session Description

Students will be broken up into small teams, each team will disassemble a different style of pump, diagnose the repairs necessary and then report to the group their findings and repairs required as if they were reporting a to a customer, discussion of the different pump types and recommended repairs along with failure diagnosis will be included.
